JOB DESCRIPTION
PowerDB Inc. makes a software product to collect data in the field while testing electrical apparatus, synchronize it to a central database, and access it for reporting and analysis. Our developers write code for all levels of this process:
- Data acquisition and control in firmware
- Instrument control via PC
- User interface
- Storage and retrieval from database
- Integration with other systems
- Data transmission via TCP
- Data analysis and presentation
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE
- Create software solutions for our software product (PowerDB)
- Create software solutions for our parent company (Megger)
- Work with hardware product managers and engineers to determine software requirements
- Work with end users to provide technical support
- Prototype possible solutions
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable software
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Programming experience in at least one of the following (C++, C#, VB, Java, Objective-C, SQL)
- Good communication skills
- Willingness for some travel (both international and domestic)

We are seeking an industry expert in NERC/FERC compliance. The ideal candidate has work experience as an auditor for NERC or a Regional Entity, or as a Compliance Manager for an electric utility. Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and protection systems is required. Candidate must have a working knowledge of NERC PRC and CIP standards.
In this role you will meet with PowerDB's utility customers to define the total NERC compliance solution they need. This will require aiding the PowerDB sales team on sales calls. You will specify data management and reporting functionality for PowerDB in order to meet industry compliance standards. With your knowledge of the standards you will look for opportunities for PowerDB to capitalize on its ability to manage and analyze data for all electrical assets. During software development you will test the functionality and provide feedback to developers, and then will assist with deployment and training for the customers. It is expected that you will attend NERC working group meetings on behalf of PowerDB, and will summarize pertinent information for the Product Managers.
